“Sri Dwarkadhish Charities” was incorporated with the blessings of Lord Krishna and inspiration from our Guru Param Poojya Leelatai Karve,as a Public Charitable Trust, in February 1997. The Trust is registered under Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 and is formed with an object to spread the teachings and philosophy of Lord Krishna and the path laid down by Late Param Poojya Leelatai Karve of Badlapur, amongst the people of different casts, creeds and religions so as to preach amity, unity, brotherhood and further ignite the spirit of service and sacrifice for uplifting all human beings spiritually, socially and economically.
Sri Dwarkadhish Charities has multifold objectives and commitments to work in rural areas for upliftment of economically weaker citizens in the villages by providing them Educational help and Medical facilities. Our Trust has earned excellent reputation and goodwill in the rural areas of Raigad District from its very inception.
Sri Dwarkadhish Charities has constructed a “Dwarkadhish Lord Krishna” temple at Sri Krishna Leela Farms, Saihari Kshetra, Apta Phata on the Mumbai-Goa Highway in December 1996. Mahashivaratri, Ram Navami, Guru Poornima and Sri Krishna Janmashtami are some of the utsavas celebrated at the temple. A ‘Dhyan Mandir’ in the temple premises was constructed and later converted into a Samadhi Mandir of our beloved Guru Param Poojya Leelatai Karve in May 2004 to provide a serene and peaceful environment for devotees who wish to meditate or chant prayers and mantras.
Soon after inauguration of Sri Leela Samadhi Mandir, in order to commemorate the occasion of Poojya Tai’s 70th birthday, a Medical Centre was built and named as “Sri Leela Chikitsalaya”. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Anant Gite, then, Minister of Energy, Government of India. Since then, Sri Leela Chikitsalaya started rendering medical services to the poor and needy people of the neighboring villages.
Expert doctors from various faculties dedicated their valuable time for regular consultancy on honorary basis and serving through medical camps. Late Dr. Vivek Rege of Rasayani had extended his continuous valuable guidance and help. The dispensary was functional for almost 20 years till recently. However, due to the recent practice of many leading hospitals/medical centres to send their well equipped medical vans to the various villages & treating patients at their respective locations, the flow of patients to our dispensary was drastically reduced & it had become practically impossible for us to maintain the cost of visiting doctors, medicines & equipments. It was, therefore, decided to close the dispensary & continue conducting various medical camps in collaboration with the Charitable Trusts/Industries/Clubs, Hospital Business Houses, Filanthrophic Organations on a large a scale. We have been getting excellent response from the local villagers & residents from adjoining areas for medical camps.
We also focus on various Educational activities and provide School Uniforms, Textbooks& Note Books, School kits, etc. in the Adivasi Padas (villages) of Raigad district. We conduct Cultural Programs of Indian classical/devotional music and dance at the temple and give opportunity to young and upcoming Artists in the field of Indian classical/devotional music, dance, etc.
